Dalston Road Closure Communication

Sunday, 16th June 2024

Just to confirm that the previously planned road closure at Dalston Road scheduled to start on 1st April, will commence on Monday 17 June 2024 and will continue into the new academic year.  Please see below for a copy of the information.

Due to this road closure we are anticipating an increase in traffic through Dalston and at various junctions. For this reason and for the health and safety of children and the local community we would strongly advise that students use school buses or the train to get to school.  Parents coming to school to collect students will be unable to turn around in the school car park. We would also kindly ask parents not to use the Low Moorlands / Nine Rigg estate as a cut through or drop off / pick up location.

To minimise congestion, we would advise any parents to pick up / drop off in the village or at the train station with students then walking the rest of the way to / from school.  Please allow extra time for the journey to avoid your child from being late.  This is particularly important for those students sitting exams as we want to keep any pressure felt to a minimum.

Stagecoach have advised us that they have changed the pick up/drop off times for the S91, S92 and S93. The amended timetables for these routes are below. We are awaiting clarification from other bus companies if they are changing their timings. We will keep you updated as we receive further information.
